Thank you for making WorkSafe Tasmania Month 2025 a success!

WorkSafe Tasmania Month 2025 has officially wrapped up! A huge thank you to everyone who took part from our presenters, participants, and all those who joined us at events across the state and online.

WorkSafe Month Tasmania is a WorkCover Board Tasmania initiative that supports Safe Work Australia Month, a national effort to improve workplace safety and reduce injury, illness, and fatalities in the workplace.

This year we aligned with the national theme ‘Safety: every job, every day’, encouraging all workplaces regardless of industry sector, location, or size to make safety a priority in everything they do.

Throughout the month, employers and workers came together to focus on improving work health and safety, wellbeing, return to work outcomes, and hear about ways to reduce work-related injuries.

Our 2025 program offered nearly 60 free webinars and in-person events across Hobart, Launceston and Devonport, including the ever-popular annual Health and Safety Representatives Conferences at Launceston and Hobart. Each event allowed participants to gain practical insights and strategies to provide, and support, safer and healthier workplaces.

Highlights from WorkSafe Month included:

• A popular webinar on Neurodiversity and Neurodivergence in the Workplace attracted more than 240 attendees, which was one of our highest number this year. Participants gained an understanding of the term, and an introduction to the lived experience of neurodivergent people including common challenges like stigma, sensory sensitivities, communication differences that can be experienced.
• A WHS Investigation workshop with a “Murder Mystery” twist, was delivered at all the regional in-person sessions around the state. These hands-on sessions brought learning to life through immersive storytelling and group-based problem solving, earning rave reviews from participants.
• The King Island Chamber of Commerce hosted its own local WorkSafe Month event, streaming 3 webinars to support their remote community with valuable safety information opportunities, proving that distance and remoteness aren’t always a barrier when accessing information.

Feedback from across the state has been overwhelmingly positive with attendees praising the opportunity to connect with industry experts, explore emerging trends, and strengthen their commitment to workplace safety and wellbeing.
