Join our team as an Inspector

Our Inspectors are committed to helping employers and workers ensure their workplaces are safe and that workers return home to their family and friends at the end of each day.

We’re growing our team, looking for people with the experience, insight and drive to help us achieve a safer and healthier Tasmania for everyone.

You’ll be working directly with employers and workers, helping them comply with a range of different laws, and providing guidance and education to do that. It’s an opportunity to build collaborative relationships with our industries and make a positive impact within the wider community, around the state.

Every workplace is different, so every day is different.

Who we’re looking for

Tasmania is home to a huge mix of industries: from the arts to agriculture, retail to manufacturing, and everything in between. So we want inspectors from an equally diverse range of backgrounds and roles, and with diverse practical work experience and knowledge.

We’re looking for people who can communicate and work well with others, with the ability to help employers and workers make necessary change, the curiosity and tenacity to uncover why an incident has occurred and how to stop it recurring, and  the willingness to make tough decisions and enforce the law when needed.

Join our team now

We’re building a diverse Inspectorate team, one that reflects our community, within the broader WorkSafe organisation where everyone is valued, respected and supported.

We have multiple Inspector (Band 4) vacancies, permanent and fixed term, in the South, North and North West:

Full time permanent – Inspector Band 4: (external link)

Full time Fixed Term 12 months – Inspector Band 4: (external link)

You must make a separate application for a permanent and fixed term position, and indicate your preference for location.
