In Tasmania, transporting dangerous goods is regulated through:
- the Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Act 2010
- the Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Regulations 2021.
These laws refer to the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (ADG Code), which sets out the operational and technical requirements in the management of dangerous goods transportation.
The ADG Code is updated every two years, with a one year transition period for each edition.
