The code of practice for Managing risks of hazardous chemicals in the workplace:
- provides practical guidance on how to manage health and safety risks associated with hazardous chemicals; and how to achieve the standards required under the work health and safety laws
- applies to all workplaces where hazardous chemicals are used and anyone involved in these activities
- explains prohibited and restricted hazardous chemicals, exposure standards, and preparing a register and manifest of hazardous chemicals
- explains identifying hazardous chemicals, including using safety data sheets and labels
- explains risk management process and controlling risks
- explains health monitoring and emergency preparedness
- includes placard and manifest quantities, checklists, practical examples of control measures, case studies and more.
