In this session we will look at how the National Strategic Plans for Asbestos and Silica will be implemented in Tasmania, and what this means for the management of these hazardous materials into the future. The Federal Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Agency, (ASSEA) has developed these plans for the timeframe 2024-2030. Each state and territory has signed up to these initiatives. Join this session to see how Tasmania is implementing these plans locally.

A nurse by trade, Vicki has spent 45 years working in the areas of health and safety. She has more than15 years’ experience as a health and safety advisor to state government departments, including the lead safety role in the roll out of an integrated management system with the City of Hobart. Vicki’s 12 years’ experience with Workplace Standards and now WorkSafe Tasmania, has included Inspector, Auditor and Compliance roles, as well as numerous years leading WorkSafe’s compensation, communication and stakeholder engagement functions.   Since mid-2024 Vicki has been working in the lead project role to facilitate the implementation of the Asbestos National Strategic Plan 2024-2030 across Tasmania.
