The code of practice for Managing the risks of respirable crystalline silica from engineered stone in the workplace:
- provides practical guidance on how to manage the health and safety risks associated with respirable crystalline silica from engineered stone; and how to achieve the standards required under the work health and safety laws
- applies to all types of work and all workplaces where engineered stone is worked or used and anyone involved in these activities
- covers the risk management process
- covers safe work method statements for engineered stone, workplace exposure standards, air/health monitoring
- covers control measures including silica dust control plans, clean up and disposal of silica dust (including management of water and waste)
- includes a silica dust control plan template.
