WorkSafe Tasmania is aware of reports of silica exposure at Stennings Road, Wynyard, and is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).
Importantly, preliminary testing indicates that Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) levels are well below harmful thresholds. These findings have been shared with relevant agencies, with no advice at this stage indicating an immediate risk to nearby businesses or the surrounding community.
WorkSafe Tasmania is also awaiting further reports. WorkSafe Tasmania and the EPA are continuing to assess the operations of the Stennings Road, Wynyard, site and will update Public Health and the community if the risk profile changes
