Quad bike safety rebate Scheme 2019: Application form

The Tasmanian Government is encouraging relevant workplaces to take part in the Quad Bike Safety Rebate Scheme to help reduce quad bike injuries and deaths.

Before applying

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive a cash-back rebate of up to 50% of the purchase price (to a maximum of $500) for an approved operator/ rollover/ crush protection device, with a total of $1,000 available for each eligible farm workplace, an applicant must satisfy the following conditions:

  • have farming as their main source of income
  • operate a business in Tasmania
  • have no more than 20 full-time employees
  • own a quad bike for work purposes.

Farmers who are owner-operators with no employees are also eligible to apply.

Valid proof of purchase is required.

Assessment

All applications will be assessed against the Terms and Conditions of the Rebate Scheme (PDF, 3.1 MB), and the eligibility requirements specified in the Guidelines (PDF, 3.1 MB).

Personal information

Personal information collected through the application process will be managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004. The Department may disclose personal information to another Tasmanian Government agency for the purpose of assessing applications.

Lodging an application

Applications can be lodged by post or email as follows. Please make sure you keep a copy of your application and all supporting documentation lodged with the application.

Applications for the rebate open from 1 July 2019 and close 30 June 2020 or when the funds run out, whichever occurs first. However, eligible farmers who purchase a device from 23 May 2019, and can provide valid proof of purchase, may also apply for the rebate from 1 July 2019.

Rebates will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis to eligible applicants who have submitted completed applications.
