The code of practice for Managing the risks of plant in the workplace:
- provides practical guidance on how to manage the health and safety risks associated with plant; and how to achieve the standards required under the work health and safety laws
- applies to all workplaces where plant is used and anyone involved in these activities
- covers the risk management process
- explains controlling risks from purchase to disposal, including purchasing and hiring plant, installing and commissioning plant, inspecting plant, decommissioning and dismantling plant, and more
- covers specific control measures, including guarding, emergency stops, warning devices and more
- explains plant registration and record keeping
- includes hazard checklist and examples of technical standards.
